Chantilly Extrait by Gritti: The Space Between the Stitches

THE RICHANDLUXE JOURNAL · OCTOBER 23, 2026

Hold lace against the light and the spaces become as expressive as the thread. A flower appears, disappears, and returns as a shadow on the surface behind it. Chantilly Extrait by Gritti invites that kind of attention: a study in delicacy with a more concentrated presence.

The name carries two associations from the French town of Chantilly—lace and cream. Luca Gritti draws fruit, vanilla and a powdery softness into their orbit. For this portrait, we follow the lace: ivory against blush, a trace of gold, and a small flash of red at the edge of the frame.

Fruit beneath a fine veil

The house lists melon, strawberry and bergamot in the opening. Apple, coconut and blackcurrant flower form the heart; vanilla, powder and musk complete the base. It is a composition that gives fresh fruit a softer setting, with a floral detail woven through the centre.

Gritti presents the Extrait as a more concentrated interpretation of Chantilly. That distinction matters when exploring the fragrance: the Extrait and Eau de Parfum are separate versions. This article considers the Extrait; our current Chantilly listing at RichandLuxe is the Eau de Parfum.

What the shadow adds

Sweetness can be an intriguing subject when it is given a little space. We imagine the strawberry as a bright accent rather than a bowl of fruit, the powder as a diffused edge, the vanilla as a warmer ground beneath the composition. These are visual associations, a way of approaching the listed materials without claiming that every wearer will experience them identically.

Our image places the complete white-and-gold Extrait bottle before a lace screen. Its pattern falls across a pale surface, while a single red glass detail supplies a point of contrast. The scene leaves the fragrance room to be playful without losing its sense of poise.

A small occasion, thoughtfully dressed

There is pleasure in choosing something beautiful for a day that has no particular claim on us. A favourite cup brought out for afternoon coffee; a silk cuff beneath a jacket; a fragrance selected because its mood feels right. We would place Chantilly Extrait within that ritual of attention.

For those drawn to gourmand fragrances, its combination of fruit, coconut and vanilla offers a direction to explore alongside the powdery and musky notes. Let personal wear reveal which part of the arrangement feels most vivid to you.
