Our Impressions of True Oud
True Oud introduces osmanthus, olive, saffron and freesia before bringing oud together with myrrh and jasmine. Sandalwood, patchouli, Akigalawood and musk give the base a woody frame. We find the unusual olive-and-osmanthus pairing worth attention, especially where it meets the resinous and floral materials around the oud theme.
We would consider it for an evening celebration or a quiet winter dinner. Compare the floral detail with the myrrh and woods if you enjoy oud compositions that include several distinct textures.
