Our Impressions of Wood Jasmin
Wood Jasmin combines a fruit opening with flowers and balsamic materials. Plum and pear form the opening; Egyptian jasmine, jasmine sambac, Turkish rose and davana occupy the heart. Myrrh, Somalian incense, Madagascan vanilla, Indonesian patchouli labdanum and nagarmotha make up the balsamic base. Our interest is in how davana relates to the fruit and flowers, with incense and labdanum providing another setting beneath them.
We would explore this for an evening floral-amber wardrobe. In a decant, compare plum and pear with the two jasmine references, then follow incense beside vanilla and patchouli. Sampling is useful for deciding how the fruit, flowers and balsamic base work together for you, especially when considering this carried legacy composition alongside the house’s current range.
