Our Impressions of Enlèvement au Sérail
Enlèvement au Sérail places ylang-ylang beside mandarin and bergamot before a heart of jasmine sambac, tuberose, Turkish rose and wallflower. Patchouli, Indian sandalwood, vanilla and Haitian vetiver create a textured base. We find the relationship between that generous bouquet and its earthy, woody setting particularly interesting.
For an evening celebration or a cooler daytime occasion, we would explore its floral character in a decant. It may suit someone who enjoys white flowers framed by woods rather than a purely fresh bouquet. Comparing it with Promesse de l’Aube gives two distinct approaches to the house’s floral and citrus materials.
