An Independent Creative Path

A musician and self-taught perfumer, Moltz co-founded D.S. & Durga with designer Kavi Moltz. The relationship between composition and design is central to the house's identity, while his fragrance work draws on the expressive possibilities of stories and materials rather than a single conventional olfactory style.

A Brooklyn Perspective on Oud

Notorious Oud provides the carried introduction here. Developed in Brooklyn around Indonesian oud, it brings saffron, rose and papyrus into a composition with aromatic, woody and animalic nuances. Camphor and galbanum provide a distinctive opening perspective, while lavender introduces another facet around the oud and rose. The fragrance invites exploration of a material through the many associations surrounding it, rather than through a solitary note presented in isolation.
