James Heeley
James Heeley is a British independent perfumer and founder of the eponymous James Heeley Parfums. His fragrance creations are inspired by art, literature, travel, and nature.
Heeley was born in Yorkshire in 1965. After studying Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic, he spent several years as a graphic designer and art director in London. In 1992, Heeley moved to Paris to study perfumery at the famous Grasse Institute of Perfumery.
Upon graduating, Heeley worked as a perfumer for several international fragrance houses, including L'Oreal, Givaudan, and Coty. In 2000, he launched his first fragrance, Corduroy, followed by a series of critically acclaimed scents such as Heeley's Jeanne d'Arc (2002), Agarwood (2003), and Iris de Nuit (2005).
In 2007, James Heeley Parfums was launched as a fully-fledged perfume house. The brand has since gone on to win numerous awards and has become a cult favorite among fragrance aficionados.
James Heeley is widely respected as one of the world's leading independent perfumers. His unique approach to fragrance creation has earned him a loyal following among those who appreciate quality, artisanal fragrances.
