Our Impressions of Gardenia Antigua
Gardenia Antigua puts gardenia within a wider white-flower arrangement. Neroli, mandarin and pink pepper open the composition, while gardenia shares the heart with ylang-ylang and jasmine. White musk, ambergris and patchouli make up the base. We find the relationship between neroli and the floral heart interesting, with patchouli providing an earthy reference beneath the flowers.
We would consider this for a spring or summer floral wardrobe. A decant lets you compare gardenia with jasmine and ylang-ylang, then notice the relationship between the citrus opening and the musky base. It offers a useful way to choose among gardenia interpretations by their surrounding materials as well as their central flower.
