An Imaginative Dialogue with Guerlain

Within L'Art & La Matière, Jelk explores fragrance through the relationship between a material and an artistic idea. Rather than presenting an ingredient in isolation, her compositions place it within a setting that changes how it is perceived. The approach makes room for generous warmth as well as quieter, more abstract textures.

Three Studies in Texture

Tobacco Honey creates a dialogue between a tobacco accord and the golden character of honey. Iris Torréfié introduces roasted coffee beside iris, suggesting the meeting of powdery elegance and an aromatic café atmosphere. Musc Outreblanc turns toward luminous musks, orange blossom, rose and iris, with sculpture providing an artistic point of reference. These selections reveal three different ways to give a perfume substance: through contrasting warmth, an unexpected aromatic pairing, or the delicate shaping of softness.
