THE ART OF PERFUMERY
Nature, Examined Closely
A REMARKABLE JOURNEY
A mountain landscape, a creamy wood and a luminous floral bouquet offer very different starting points for a perfume. Fabrice Pellegrin's work reveals how close attention to materials can connect those worlds without making them resemble one another.
The son of a Grasse perfumer, Pellegrin brings a strong interest in natural materials to his creative work. His compositions invite attention to their particular facets: the freshness within a wood, the warmth beneath an aromatic impression, or the changing texture of a flower.
Vert Malachite frames jasmine, ylang-ylang and lily with bright citrus and a warm vanilla-benzoin foundation. Santal Dan Sha explores sandalwood through the contrasting freshness of bergamot, violet leaf and cardamom, with incense adding definition. Les Alpes by Nissaba turns toward an alpine landscape, bringing juniper, pine and aromatic herbs into contact with hay, fir balsam and woods. Together they suggest a perfumer interested not only in what a material smells like, but in the atmosphere it can help create.
A curated introduction to the perfumer’s artistry through three distinctive creations available at RichandLuxe.
