Our Impressions of Palo Santo
Palo Santo places rum and davana beside milk, tonka and gaiac wood, with vetiver, cedarwood and sandalwood in the base. That pairing suggests a softer, rounded approach to woods, offset by vetiver’s drier character. We would follow the milk-and-wood relationship rather than expect a purely smoky interpretation from the fragrance’s name.
We would consider it for a quiet dinner or a relaxed autumn weekend. It offers an interesting comparison for clients who enjoy woody fragrances with gourmand touches, especially tonka and milk notes.
