Inspiration beyond Perfumery

In his own account of his work for THoO, Calabrò describes drawing inspiration from music, painting, cinema and literature, as well as food. These interests do not prescribe a single signature. Instead, they provide different starting points for compositions that invite discovery through contrast.

Three Distinct Sensory Directions

Sapphire Blue explores a floral and almond-toned sweetness, framed by spice and vanilla. Dear Karma turns toward the aromatic bitterness of an absinthe accord, with incense, rose, myrrh and a leathery foundation adding depth. L'Explicite takes an unconventional gourmand direction, bringing banana bread and peanut butter into a composition enlivened by lemon and ylang-ylang. Together they reveal a willingness to treat both familiar and unusual associations as serious material for perfume.
